Our Spring Term will begin on March 31st. If you would like to register your child in a fun, and engaging class: please contact our Member Services Desk for descriptions, times and costs, or contact Preschool Director, Shay O’Brien at 403-537-2712

Our students learn more than English language skills in their LINC classes at the YMCA. LINC instructors help create a sense of belonging for their students by encouraging them to be an active part of building their new community. With their classes, LINC students participate in many volunteer opportunities throughout the city; recently classes have sorted clothing at the Mustard Seed, cooked lunch at the Salvation Army, and worked together to gather food and clothing donations for various organizations.
Volunteering is a great way for newcomers to build job skills and engage in positively developing their new communities. LINC students are keen to volunteer on their own after the positive experiences they have volunteering with their classes. Many are especially eager to become YMCA volunteers; we have North and South LINC students volunteering in many areas at both Saddletowne and Shawnessy YMCA.
Preschool seems to be the most popular volunteer choice for LINC students at Saddletowne! There are currently 3 LINC students volunteering regularly at the Saddletowne Preschool: Musarrat, Jahan, and Shahana. They are enjoying connecting with other YMCA staff, volunteers, and members through their work with the preschool. It’s great to see so many smiling, familiar faces giving their time and building relationships in a different area of the YMCA.
Way to go, LINC! You have really shown what it means to Belong, Grow, Thrive and Lead!
The Saddletowne Preschool Department put in a team for our Spin for Strong Kids Fundraiser on March 3, 2014. Our team was made up of instructors, directors, community members, and volunteers; if there was one word to describe our team it would have to be amazing!
We are sending out a sincere THANK YOU! to all our sponsors; especially the Karbani family, the Persaud family, the Elliot family, the Khamba family, and Sam Haneef (our youngest and best team member)!
The Saddletowne YMCA is truly a community; one that is made up of dedicated and kind members – it was a privilege to be able to participate in this event and spin along side people of such high caliber.
In total, the Preschool department alone raised $140.00!
Here is a great photo of some of our Preschool students cheering on our first group of spinning ladies!
The majority of our programs run by dedicated volunteers! We would not be able to deliver such quality programming without their help. We also are fortunate to have many wonderful and generous families in our community who think of us often! We would like to send out a big thank you to the Christensen family for their donation of some new cool gym equipment!
