YMCA Calgary opened in 1902 as a place for men to explore spiritual values and leisure activities. Since then, YMCA Calgary has evolved into a vibrant charitable organization, where thousands of Calgarians are involved each year through health and wellness programs, community outreach and newcomer programs, day and residential camping, leadership development and childcare.
Guided by four core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility, YMCA Calgary strives to offer quality programs and services that gives children, youth and adults the opportunity to belong, grow, thrive and lead.
There are 51 YMCAs across Canada that offer programs and services tailored to each community’s needs. Together, 2 million people are served in more than 1000 communities across Canada.
